Common Issues & Solutions

Land ownership data not showing on map

Solution:

  1. Check that you have an active Premium subscription (Settings → Subscription)
  2. Ensure you're connected to the internet for initial data download
  3. Tap the filter icon and verify land types are enabled
  4. Try refreshing the map or restarting the app

GPS accuracy is poor

Solution:

  • Ensure Location Services are enabled in device Settings
  • Grant "Always Allow" or "While Using" location permission to the app
  • Move to an area with clear sky view (tree cover and buildings reduce accuracy)
  • Wait 30-60 seconds for GPS to acquire satellites
  • Check that you have "High Accuracy" mode enabled in app Settings

Subscription not working after purchase

Solution:

  1. Restart the app to refresh subscription status
  2. Go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases
  3. Verify subscription is active in App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) settings
  4. If still not working, email us at support@obsessiontracker.com with your purchase receipt

Photos not geotagged correctly

Solution:

  • Use the in-app camera instead of importing from gallery
  • Ensure Location Services are enabled when taking photos
  • Wait for GPS accuracy indicator to turn green before capturing
  • Photos taken with external camera apps may not have accurate GPS data

App crashes or freezes

Solution:

  1. Force quit the app and restart it
  2. Update to the latest version from App Store/Google Play
  3. Ensure you have sufficient device storage (500MB+ free space)
  4. Try clearing app cache in Settings → Storage
  5. If issue persists, email us with device model and OS version

Can't export session data

Solution:

  • Check that you granted storage/file access permissions to the app
  • Ensure you have sufficient device storage for export file
  • Try exporting to a different format (GPX, KML, CSV, .otx)
  • For .otx exports, verify you entered the encryption password correctly

Subscription & Billing

How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Obsession GPS Tracker → Cancel Subscription
Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Obsession GPS Tracker → Cancel

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open Obsession GPS Tracker → Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Your subscription will sync from your App Store/Google Play account.

Can I get a refund?

Refund requests must go through Apple/Google. We don't process refunds directly. See Apple's refund policy or Google's refund policy.

Will I lose my data if I cancel Premium?

No! Your tracking data stays on your device. You'll lose access to land ownership features, but all your sessions, waypoints, and photos remain intact.
